Easy recipes, honest motherhood, and movement squeezed in wherever it fits.
If you’re reading this while reheating your coffee, holding a baby, or wondering what’s for dinner — welcome. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
I’m Shannon. I’m a mom of six (yes, six), a baker who believes in shortcuts, and someone who has learned that life doesn’t slow down just because you’re tired. These days I’m deep in the chaos of two under two, which means most things are loud, a little chaotic, and done with one hand.
Full Hands, Full Plates was born out of real life -the kind where dinner still has to happen even when the day was hard. This is a space for easy, comforting recipes that don’t require a quiet house, fancy ingredients, or a perfect plan. The food here is meant to work for real families, real schedules, and real energy levels.
But this blog isn’t just about food.
It’s also about motherhood as it actually feels -including the breastfeeding blues, the hormonal waves no one really prepares you for, and the strange in-between of trying to feel like yourself again. I’ll share honest stories, what helped me through hard postpartum moments, and the things that made the days feel a little more manageable.
You’ll also see a lot of kickbacks in the kitchen - literally. I’m the mom doing kickbacks at the counter while something simmers, squats while the oven preheats, and squeezing in movement wherever it fits. No gym perfection. Just doing what I can, where I am, while dinner cooks and babies nap (or don’t).
You’ll find:
• Easy recipes for busy days
• Comfort food for tired seasons
• Baking that doesn’t overcomplicate things- simple instructions
• Kid and classroom treats that don’t require staying up all night
• Blog posts you can read while having your coffee and a mental moment
There’s no judgment here. No pressure to do things a certain way. If dinner is frozen, homemade, or eaten straight off the counter - it all counts.
I’m really glad you’re here. Take what helps, leave what doesn’t, and stay as long as you like.
