(The Tools That Keep Dinner on the Table & Me Sane)

There was a time when I thought being “good in the kitchen” meant having a spotless counter, a perfectly timed dinner, and maybe even a matching outfit.
That time has passed.
Now my kitchen looks more like organized chaos - a toddler asking for a snack while already holding a snack, a baby looking to be held, something bubbling on the stove, and me doing kickbacks while waiting for water to boil (because multitasking is a lifestyle now).
These are the kitchen tools I actually use. Not the pretty ones that sit untouched. The ones that save dinner, save time, and occasionally save my sanity.
If you’re feeding a family, breastfeeding, exhausted, or all of the above -this is for you.
Everyday Kitchen Must-Haves (AKA: Dinner Without Tears)
My Slow Cooker
If I had to pick one kitchen item to survive motherhood, this would be it.
This is for:
• Busy weekdays
• Days I don’t feel like cooking
• Days I can’t cook but still want real food on the table
I prep during nap time, forget about it, and dinner magically appears later. It’s the reason we eat home-cooked meals even when life feels chaotic.
Sheet Pans (Plural -Trust Me)
Sheet pan dinners are a personality trait at this point.
Chicken, veggies, seasoning, oven -done. Minimal dishes, maximum payoff. I use these constantly for roasted meals, quick lunches, and of course baking.
Large Nonstick Skillet
This is my workhorse. Breakfast, lunch, dinner -it does it all.
I love a skillet that heats evenly and doesn’t require a full arm workout to scrub afterward.
Mom Life & Feeding Essentials
Sippy Cups (That Don’t Leak All Over My House)
I have tried so many sippy cups -the cute ones, the trendy ones, the ones that promise “no leaks” and absolutely lie.
These are the ones that actually work in real life:
• Easy for little hands
• Don’t spill the second they tip over
• Survive being thrown from a high chair
They’re perfect for water, milk, and the constant refills that happen all day long.
Toddler Utensils That Actually Work
Not the cute ones. The functional ones.
These are the ones that don’t end up on the floor immediately and make my toddler feel independent -which buys me approximately three peaceful minutes.
Snack Containers
If you have kids, you know snacks run the house.
These containers keep portions reasonable, snacks visible, and my sanity mostly intact when I hear “I’m hungry” for the 47th time.
Breastfeeding & Baby Essentials
Boppy Nursing Pillow
I used this A LOT! This was a lifesaver during long feeding sessions — especially when I was camped out on the couch with a toddler wanting to touch the new baby. It gave my arms and back a break and made breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, and contact naps so much more comfortable.
Glass Baby Food Jars
I love these for homemade baby food because they’re sturdy, easy to clean, and don’t hold onto smells like plastic does. I use them for purées, leftovers and snacks. They stack well in the fridge and make me feel slightly more put together than I actually am.
Survival Mode Staples (Mom Fuel)
Coffee Maker
This isn’t optional. This is survival equipment.
We use this coffee machine several times a day!
Whether it’s a latte or a quick cup to get me through school drop-off, this machine shows up for me every single morning.
Insulated Mug
Because hot coffee is a luxury - and reheating it five times is not.
This keeps my coffee warm even when I forget it exists because someone needs me.
Blender
From smoothies to sauces to quick pancake batter -this blender works overtime in our house.
Bonus points for helping me feel like I made a “healthy choice” that day.
Tools I Use in My Recipes
These tools show up all over my recipes - from easy toddler snacks to family dinners.
If you’ve made:

🤍 Why I Share This
I only recommend what I actually use in my real, messy, loud kitchen. You'll see from my selections that I like to add pops of blue and green in my personal kitchen.
No fluff. No clutter. Just tools that help me:
• Feed my family
• Spend less time stressed
• Create memories instead of messes (okay… fewer messes)
If something makes my life easier, I want it to make yours easier too.
